Things to do
Algarve is famous for its spectacularly beautiful beaches surrounded by multi-tone rocks and cliffs. Beyond the beaches though, there is plenty to do, and not only during summer either.

Water Parks
Slide and Splash – Lagoa
In Lagoa which is just a thirty minute drive from Albufeira, Slide and Splash is a very big aqua park offering just about every aqua-ride imaginable, ranging from gentle baby slides in the kiddies’ pool to the frightening and exciting Torrents and Black Hole experiences. Or you can relax in sun loungers by the large swimming pool which is set in extensive subtropical landscaped gardens.
Aqualand
A large aqua park near Armacao de Pera which is just 15 km from Albufeira, Aqualand has many attractions including the Anaconda corkscrew slide, rapids white water rafting, flying carpets, super surf crazy race, mini park for infants, surf beach, Congo River and Banzai Boggan where you surf on a board after gaining speed coming down a nearly vertical 23 metre drop. Or there is the Kamikaze which is definitely not for the fainthearted as it is the highest slide in Portugal which will transport you from 92 metres in the air to ground level in less than four seconds. If you do not have your own transport, then you can catch a bus from Albufeira direct to the park.
There are also a number of others, Aqua Show and Atlantic Park in Loule, for example.
Theme Parks
Zoomarine – Albuferia
Open every day from 10am to 6pm. Located in Guia just 15 minutes from Albufeira, Zoomarine is a dolphinarium which has its own mini funfair, water park, mini seaworld with sharks, turtles, exotic seabirds, alligators, tropical fish, seabirds and dolphin and sea lion shows it offers you the chance to swim with dolphins.
Krazy World
Head west out of Albufeira to Algoz where this fun park for adults and children will keep you amused. There is a petting farm where you can mingle with pigs, wallabies, deer, goats and llamas: Krazy golf which offers two 18 hole courses (one in a jungle setting): a funfair with numerous fairground rides for all the family: the swimming pool is surrounded by bars and restaurants where you can relax: or Amazonia with its macaws, turtles and reptilarium where trained handlers give live shows with wild animals including alligators and crocodiles.

Safari
Zebra Safari
Travel on a full day tour of the Algarve in a 4x4. You will see the beautiful countryside and you can take a dip in the lake to cool off and eat a typical Portuguese lunch.
